Thank you for Making National Media Education Week 2008 a Great Success!
Media Awareness Network (MNet) and the Canadian Teachers’ Federation (CTF) would like to thank all the organizations, schools, communities and individuals across the country that participated in National Media Education Week 2008.
We look forward to working with everyone again next year. Going forward the week will now be known as Media Literacy Week.
We changed the name in 2009 to reinforce the notion that helping kids become media literate isn’t just the responsibly of teachers. Parents, librarians, Guide and Scout leaders, coaches, camp counsellors, paediatricians, anyone and everyone working with children and youth can play a role.
Mark your calendars now for Media Literacy Week 2009 - November 2-6 and return to our Web site in the coming weeks to view our 2009 re-launch.
We encourage everyone to continue to look for ways to promote the importance of media literacy in the lives of Canadian children and youth in our classrooms, homes and communities year round. For more information about media education and how you can be more involved visit www.media-awareness.ca.
